INTO THE FOREST

Arrancamos este lunes (aunque no tan lunes para algunos) con una de las visualizaciones que más ilusión me ha hecho de las que he creado últimamente. La idea era conseguir unos árboles lo más fotorrealistas posible, utilizando una técnica de modelado orgánico totalmente diferente a los flujos de trabajo a los que estoy acostumbrada, mucho más creativa y libre, ¡y la verdad es que me encantó! Sin más, os dejo con el resultado, ¿qué os parece?

We start this Monday with one of the visualizations I recently made and most enjoyed. The idea was to make some trees, as photorrealistic as possible, by using organic modelling techniques which were completely different from the workflows I'm used to. It's kind of a more creative and free way to work, and I absolutely loved it! So, let's see the result...let me know what you think!

INDUSTRIAL CAFÉ

¡Buenos días chicos! Como os he contado alguna vez, una de las cosas que más me fascinan en visualización arquitectónica es la creación de texturas gastadas, ensuciadas, resquebrajadas o con cualquier tipo de deterioro visible, creo que dan un punto de hiperrealismo genial (os enseñé mi propia versión la semana pasada). El ejemplo que os traigo hoy no lo puede ilustrar mejor: el artista ha recreado un espacio que desprende ese aire industrial chic que tanto nos gusta, y la verdad es que el resultado es una pasada.

Las texturas están en general increíblemente trabajadas: el suelo agrietado, la pared desconchada, los ladrillos, los arañazos de la mesilla...pero lo que más me llama la atención es cómo ha conseguido representar el desgaste en las sillas y taburetes Tolix...¡genial!

Desde luego, si este bar existiera en algún lugar aparte de la mente del artista, me encantaría tomarme un café allí :)

Good morning folks! I told you sometimes about how much I love introducing dirt, scratches, stains, etc. in architectural visualization. I think that is what gives the hiperrealism plus to the rendering (last week I showed you my own version). Today's example can't get any better for this: the artist has recreated an amazing space with that industrial chic air we love so much.

General textures are really well crafted: cracked floor, walls, dirty bricks, scratched coffee table, etc. But what has impressed me the more is how he got that awesome old look in the Tolix furniture...great, don't you think so?

I whish this café existed anywhere apart from the artist's mind, because I'd love to go there for a coffee!

BACK TO ROME

¡Por fin viernes! Os prometí ir enseñándoos visualizaciones hechas por mí, de modo que aquí va otra. En una de las prácticas del máster, tuvimos que modelar una escena exterior similar a un callejón; los únicos requisitos eran: pocas entradas de luz, y texturas con suciedades muy trabajadas. Para el resto, total libertad. Yo, que siempre he sido una freak de la Antigua Roma (me fascina todo lo que tiene que ver con ella y su cultura) intenté recrear una escena ambientada en esa época, y aquí tenéis el resultado. ¿Qué os parece?

Good morning folks! T.G.I.F.! As I promised, I am showing you some renderings made by me, so here is another one. As a task for the Master Degree I am studying, we had to recreate an exterior scene similar to an alley. We  just had two requirements: not too much space for natural light to come in, and really crafted textures with different types of dirt. Apart from that, we had complete freedom to model what we wanted. I have always been an Ancient Rome freak, so I tried to make a scene set on that epic time. What do you guys think?

BKF LOVE

Para comenzar la semana con fuerza, hoy os traigo algo nuevo... llevo unos meses compartiendo con vosotros mi pasión por el 3D y la visualización arquitectónica, y he pensado que ya era hora de enseñaros algo creado por mí!
La silla BKF, también conocida como Butterfly chair, es una de mis favoritas de todos los tiempos (sueño con tener una en casa). Creada hace más de 75 años por Antonio Bonet Castellana junto a los argentinos Juan Kurchan y Jorge Ferrari Hardoy, esta butaca formada por una estructura de barras de hierro plegadas, sobre la que descansa una funda de cuero que sostiene el peso del cuerpo, es una de las piezas más famosas del mundo, además de un icono del diseño argentino.
Y bien...¡esta es mi particular recreación de la BKF chair! ¿Qué os parece?

To start with this week, I want to tell you about something new...after a few months sharing with you my passion for 3D and architectural visualization, I thought that may be it was already time to show you something made by me!
BKF chair, also known as Butterfly chair, is one of my all time favourite pieces. Created more than 75 years ago by Antonio Bonet Castellana together with Argentinian Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy, this chair consists of an iron folding structure, with a leather cover which receives the body weight. It's one of the world most famous pieces and, of course, an icon of Argentinian design.
So...here is my particular version of BKF chair! What do you think?

LA BICYCLETTE

¡Buenos días chicos! La escena que os traigo hoy está impregnada de ese aire vintage que tanto me gusta cuando se trata de visualización arquitectónica. Y es que para mí las texturas envejecidas, desgastadas y con imperfecciones son lo que más fotorrealismo aporta a una infografía.

Sabéis que adoro los espacios abuhardillados, y este no podía ser menos. La separación del dormitorio y la zona de trabajo mediante esa estantería que a su vez actúa a modo de puerta es perfecta, sutil pero efectiva. Yo describiría este espacio como un "rincón para crear". ¡Lo bien que me habría venido un lugar así para encerrarme a hacer mi proyecto fin de carrera! Jajaja, no me puedo creer que ya haga un año, ¡el tiempo vuela!

Good morning folks! Today's scene has a great vintage atmosphere, which I love when it comes to architectural visualization. For me, aged, rusty textures are what really make the photorrealism in rendering.

You know I love this type of attic spaces. I think it's a great idea to separate the sleeping area and the studio by that shelves, which also act as kind of a door. I would say this is a perfect "space for creating". I wish I had had a space like this one when I made my final degree project! I can't believe it was a year ago, time really flies!

BACK TO WORK!

¡Por fin estoy de vuelta! Ha sido un verano de lo más movidito, pero ya tenía ganas de volver al blog :) Y para este primer post del curso, he querido enseñaros unas imágenes que reflejan perfectamente mi "estado mental" actual: como algunos sabréis, estoy cursando un máster en visualización arquitectónica y 3D, un tema que me apasiona (por si había quedado alguna duda, jaja). Ya estamos en la recta final, y por eso ahora mismo, mi cabeza y mis días están tan a tope de trabajo como este (increíble) estudio. No obstante, durante estos últimos meses de curso intentaré actualizar tanto como me sea posible!

En cuanto a la escena, me ha cautivado por lo increíblemente trabajadas que están las texturas, desgastadas, pulidas por el uso, resquebrajadas... y por supuesto, esas manchas de mil colores que sin duda son lo que más llama la atención de todo el espacio. El autor ha atiborrado la escena de objetos sin descuidar el fotorrealismo de ninguno de ellos, haciendo un trabajo de lo más exhaustivo que me ha dejado boquiabierta. Creo que las imágenes reflejan genial esa sensación que todos hemos tenido alguna vez, donde todo está localizado dentro de nuestro perfecto desorden, y no paramos de pensar en lo felices que seremos cuando pase el día de la entrega! Jajaja!

I'm finally back! After a non-stop summer, I really needed to get back to the blog :) For this first September post, I wanted to show you these images, which reflect how I actually feel right now. As some of you know, I'm studying a CGI and architectural visualization master's degree, and we are getting close to the end, which means tons of work! However, I will try to keep you posted as much as I can.

Talking about the scene, I was totally caught by the extremely well crafted textures, aged and cracked; and of course by all those multi color spots, which the most eye-catching thing in the space. The artist has stuffed the scene with lots and lots of objects, but taking equal care of all of them, which results in an amazing photorealism. I think these renderings can fully depict that stressing feeling most of us has suffered more than once!

CLASSIC BERLIN

¡Hola chicos! Terminamos el fin de semana con estas imágenes de un apartamento berlinés. Una visualización arquitectónica que me ha conquistado por la simplicidad de la paleta de colores y por el suelo de madera en espina de pez, un clásico que nunca falla. Sabéis que soy muy fan de las molduras, y estas tienen un aire más contemporáneo que las que os he enseñado otras veces, pero precisamente esa vuelta de tuerca modulando la pared es lo que para mí le da el toque a los espacios.

Por otra parte, en cuanto a la infografía en sí, está especialmente conseguida la luz y el movimiento de las cortinas, creando esa sensación de ligereza.

Hi guys! To finish this weekend, here are these images recreating an apartment in Berlin. An architectural visualization that caught my heart because of its simple color palette, and that herringbone timber floor, a classical feature which always works. You know I'm a big fan of mouldings, and these ones have kind of a more contemporary air than the ones I have shown you in earlier occasions, but it's exactly this twist what, for me, gives the point to the spaces.

On the other hand, talking about the rendering itself, I think the lighting it's specially well depicted, as well as the curtains movement, which creates a lightness feeling.

WISHBONE

¡Hola chicos! La visualización arquitectónica de hoy viene en forma de vídeo. Un espectacular salón-comedor separado de la cocina por una mampara de vidrio que, como vimos en este post, amplía visualmente el espacio dando sensación de continuidad. La enorme cocina de estilo industrial casa genial con el aire escandinavo que le dan al salón las sillas Wishbone, y ese reloj de pared de mármol se está convirtiendo en una necesidad ;)

Las infografías en vídeo son una forma más de visualizar el espacio, que casi nos permite introducirnos en él, y ésta, de planos tan elegantes y sutiles, es la primera de las que os iré enseñando con el tiempo.

Hi guys! Today's architectural visualization comes as a video. A gorgeous dining-living room, divided from the kitchen by a glass wall which, as we saw on this post, makes the space feel wider, creating a continuous feeling. The huge industrial kitchen goes greatly with the Scadinavian touch added to the dining room by the Whishbone chairs, and that marble clock is seriously becoming a need ;)

Video-renderings are another great way of visualizing space, making us almost getting inside the room. This, with its elegant and subtle planes, is the first one I show you, but there are more to come.

THE GREEN OFFICE

¡Por fin viernes! Hoy quiero aprovechar la reciente inauguración del pabellón de la Serpentine Gallery, diseñado por el estudio español SelgasCano, para mostraros una visualización aquitectónica de otra de sus obras: su espectacular oficina en Madrid. Ubicada en un lugar inesperado, y semienterrada pero a la vez llena de luz, es un espacio de trabajo realmente inspirador. Estas infografías han sido realizadas por Alberto Germá, aunque si me dijeran que son fotografías reales me lo creería sin ningún problema. ¿No os parecen de un hiperrealismo increíble? Os dejo dos fotos al final, para que lo comprobéis vosotros mismos.

It's finally Friday! Summer Serpentine Pavillion was recently opened, and this year, the project was made by Spanish architecture office SelgasCano. I want to take this opportunity to show you an architectural visualization that recreates another of their works: their stunning office in Madrid. A half-buried but filled with light piece in an unexpected location, which is a truly inspiring work place. These renderings were made by Alberto Germá, but if someone told me they are real photographs, I would believe it with no doubts. Don't you think they are incredibly hiperrealist? I posted two real photos at the end, so that you can check it by your own.

WHITE BRICK

¡Hola chicos! Comenzamos la semana con una nueva visualización arquitectónica. Estas infografías recrean una habitación a medio camino entre lo industrial y lo bohemio, con un cierto toque masculino. Uno de los puntos fuertes de la escena es, en mi opinión, la iluminación: se consigue una luz ambiental increíble que baña toda la habitación, y la mezcla con los pequeños focos de las lamparitas queda genial. Pasando a las texturas, me parece espectacular cómo se han recreado las uvas, las rodajas de lima y las burbujas del vaso. En cuanto a las telas, si bien no me acaba de convencer el aspecto de las sábanas, creo que en los cojines del sillón, los visillos y el cuero de la cama se ha conseguido un hiperrealismo increíble. Y a vosotros, ¿qué os parece?

Hi people! To start this week, I want to show you a new architectural visualization. These renderings recreate a bedroom which is halfway between an industrial and a bohemian style, with a masculine touch. For me, one of the best things about this scene is the lighting: it has a beautiful ambient light, that floods the whole room, and mixed with the little light spots of the lamps makes  a great effect. Talking about textures, it amazes me how the grapes, the lime slices and the sparkling drink are represented. As for the textile elements, although I feel the sheets' appearance could be better, I think the cushions, curtains and aged leather on the bed have a stunning hiperrealism. So, what do you think?
