LONELY HOUSES

¡Hola! Hoy quiero compartir con vosotros unas imágenes algo diferentes. Estas fotografías realizadas por Sejkko miran la arquitectura tradicional portuguesa a través de un cristal distinto al habitual. El fotógrafo, hijo de padres portugueses, pasó su infancia en Venezuela y, según él mismo cuenta, la idea que tenía de hogar parecía ser distinta a lo que allí encontraba. Era como si guardase recuerdos inconscientes de la tierra natal de sus padres, a pesar de que por entonces aún no la conocía. Así, esta serie de imágenes plasma esa mezcla insólita: en todas podemos encontrar lo que esperaríamos en un edificio tradicional portugués, y a la vez, tienen un desconcertante aire tropical.

Hi! Today, I want to share with you these certainly different images. Made by Sejkko, they look Portugal traditional architecture through a different glass. The photographer is son of Portuguese immigrants in Venezuela, and he spent his childhood there. As he tells, the idea he had of home was a bit different to what he found there. He felt like unconciously saving memories from his parents' home country, even if he had never been there yet. So, this photographs capture that unusual mix: we easily recognize in them a traditional Portuguese building, but, at the same time, they have a surprisingly tropical appearance.
